The first Friday of Term 1 saw all the staff and many parents gather at the school for a celebration of the new academic year and to welcome Somerset Montessori (Mariana van Niekerk) who joined Newberry House this year.
The PA, under the direction of Duncan Drennan PA Chairman, and the very energetic and dynamic parent, Maki Venter, organised a wonderful evening with “boeresport” activities, delicious food, music and more; and children, parents and staff got into the spirit of things and had a good deal of fun. New friendships were forged, old friendships were renewed and everyone agreed we should do this more regularly.
