Admission Process and Expectations
Parents are advised to complete an application form and return it to the school as soon as possible. The school will call the parents for an interview. The child will need to spend time in the Montessori classroom environment for observation and assessment, and for the child to see if the environment feels like the right place for them. Only after this observation and full interview with the parents will the family be informed of the child’s enrolment status. Payment of the required enrolment fee will then secure a child’s place at the school.
We hold various parent informative and educational meetings, as well as work days, and these are compulsory for all parents. The family needs to understand and acknowledge the values of Newberry House, as the education of a child is a 3-pronged approach:
1 – the child
2 – the teacher/school
3 – the parents/family
